Associate Pastor of Worship Arts

MISSION:  Lakeside Community Church exists to help people move one step closer to Jesus and reach those far from Him.



SUMMARY


The Worship Arts Director will advance the Mission of Lakeside by cultivating and leading a ministry of vibrant, authentic, joyful worship. This will be accomplished by teaching and encouraging God’s people to become genuine, passionate worshipers of God—not only at church, but in their daily walk.  A critical aspect of this position will include inspiring, encouraging, and equipping those with musical gifts and abilities to serve through worship.  


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS



  • Serve as the Lead Worshiper, to engage the audience  by providing an inviting worship atmosphere. 

  • Collaborate with the Lead Pastor to plan a cohesive worship experience.

  • Coordinate and oversee production of  two Sunday morning worship services including all elements of music, sound, creative arts and production.

  • Plan and lead a weekly worship team rehearsal.

  • Work with current ministry volunteers and actively recruit, screen, organize, train, and equip individuals to serve on the worship and production teams.

  • Develop a healthy ministry volunteer culture marked by enjoyment, longevity, continued development, and regular  encouragement.

  • Provide Biblical leadership and encouragement for worship team members.

  • Maintain healthy and timely communication with other staff,  and worship team members.

  • Pursue opportunities to perform music outside of Lakeside that will strategically provide ministry outreach to the Lakeshore area.

  • Be a voice at the table to pray through, dream about and plan the ministry direction for the Lakeside  church family. 

  • Other duties as assigned by the Lead Pastor.

  • Talented musician, with strong vocal and instrumental ability.

  • Self-starter, that is able to work independently.

  • Ability to operate with discretion and confidentiality at all times.

  • Excellent management and people skills to embrace diversity of schedules, backgrounds, formats, contexts, etc.

  • Comfortable utilizing technology including, social media, graphics, presentations, sound, lighting, etc.

  • Detail oriented, strong organization, prioritization and time-management skills are critical.

  • Work well under pressure and can accomplish multiple tasks, with conflicting priorities and timelines. 

  • Ability to respond to and deal with a wide range of queries/requests. Flexibility and willingness to adjust actions when appropriate.

  • Team Player. 

  • Accepts feedback and deals calmly, and effectively during high stress situations.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 



  • A strong, musically competent leader.

  • Experienced at leading worship.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent. 

  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the ministry.


 TIME REQUIREMENTS


  • Attend all regular worship services.

  •  Weekly Staff meetings. 

  • Time “in office” is required, but flexible, depending on the needs of the ministry, as approved by the Lead Pastor.

  •  Attend/lead meetings, trainings, coaching sessions or other events as needed

  •  Occasional special events and activities.
