The Woodlands Methodist Church is a member of the Global Methodist Church. The Pastor of Worship serves as champion, communicator and pastoral advisor for worship experiences including online worship at The Woodlands Methodist Church. The primary purpose of this role is to provide a consistent voice and represent the vision and strategic direction of the Senior Pastor to ensure continuity and consistency across all worship venues and worship experiences. The Pastor of Worship also serves as pastoral advisor to program ministries and The Woodlands Methodist School for their ministry initiatives that include elements of worship.
Creative Planning & Production of Worship Experiences
Partners with Lead Pastors from each worship venue to help guide the planning process from both a creative and production perspective ensuring consistency in vision and alignment with the overall strategic direction of the church.
Manages pastoral assignments to specific worship venues which includes managing the pastoral calendar and requests for Sundays off.
Directs sacramental experiences including scheduling, participant training, and support team management.
Oversees the readiness of facilities for weekend worship venues in the main building including usher teams.
Partners with worship venue pastors to develop the online worship experience.
Campus-wide worship Experiences
Leads strategic visioning and planning for campus-wide worship series including Stewardship, Advent, Lent, and special campaigns.
Facilitates occasional pastoral retreats to develop and plan worship strategies that further advance the goals, vision, and mission of The Woodlands Methodist Church.
Manages the campus-wide worship calendar including approvals for campus-wide communication (e.g. pulpit announcements) through worship venues.
Guides and approves the communication strategies for campus-wide worship experiences including print, video, environmental elements and other content deliverables.
Pastoral advisor for program ministry worship initiatives
Advises and guides ministry teams in planning and implementing worship experiences to ensure consistency with the overall mission of The Woodlands Methodist Church and alignment with the Wesleyan theology. This includes Confirmation, ministry retreats, special events and other distinct worship services.
Serves as pastoral advisor to The Woodlands Methodist School for worship initiatives.
Partners with clergy to encourage inclusion of pastoral interns and helps guide the development of their God-given gifts, expand their understanding of the pastoral role and discern their personal call to ministry.
