Job Description

Creative Connection Preschool & Kindergarten is an outreach ministry of Central Kitsap Presbyterian Church. We seek to prepare young children for the future by integrating Christian values in a quality and nurturing learning experience.

Creative Connection Preschool & Kindergarten is seeking an enthusiastic Pre-k Lead teacher to guide and nurture young children in a variety of educational activities needed to be successful in kindergarten for the 2024/2025 school year. We are seeking an individual who is excited about Christ-centered education and is passionate about working with children ages 4-5 from diverse backgrounds. We are looking for someone who is committed to helping all students succeed.

Pay

 $20-$25 per hour
 Paid 32 hours per week
 September through May

Job Responsibilities

 Model a Christ-like behavior and attitude in all areas.
 Create an age-appropriate curriculum, including but not limited to pre-reading, math, fine and gross motor skills, science, social studies, art, music, and free-play.
 Facilitate engaging activities, including early learning, arts and crafts and recreational play.
 Maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment that celebrates each individual student.
 Keep parents informed through electronic communications, monthly newsletters, and conferences.
 Be able to work with a teaching assistant and provide direction.
 Contribute to the school wide community by maintaining a positive attitude, confidentiality, praying for other staff members and students.
 Develop positive relationships with parents and students built on mutual respect and trust.
 Assess student progress toward entering kindergarten.

Qualifications

 Degree in ECE or Elementary Ed with credits in ECE preferred.
 Previous experience in early childhood education, school teaching or preschool care.
 Strong understanding of child development stages and educational practices.
 Ability to create and implement age-appropriate educational activities.
 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
 First aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
 Warm, loving, patient and nurturing personality.
 Passionate about children

Requirements

 Must pass state and federal background check.
 Must complete Ministry Safe training.
 Must love working with children.
 Must be able to walk, run, lift and possibly hula-hoop and hopscotch.

Schedule

 Monday through Thursday 8 hours per day.
