Job Description

The Connections & 55+ Ministry Assistant is crucial in supporting the vibrant life of Cherry Hills Community Church’s elder community. This role focuses on the smooth operation of ministry events and administrative tasks, directly contributing to an environment that fosters spiritual growth and connection. Working closely with the Connections & 55+ Pastor, this assistant ensures every detail is handled with care and precision, from event planning to day-to-day support, embodying a spirit of service and community.


⏤ Responsibilities


Event Coordination and Support



  • Planning Excellence and Logistical Management

    • Collaborate with the Connections & 55+ Pastor to plan and schedule engaging and spiritually enriching events for the 55+ community. Ensure meticulous attention to detail in all phases of event execution, from initial concept to post-event follow up.

    • Handle all logistical aspects of events, including venue booking, transportation, setup, and catering. Ensure a smooth, welcoming experience for attendees at both onsite and offsite locations.

    • Be present at events to ensure they are run with excellence and be available to travel to events, most within an hour from Denver, with occasional travel out of state or internationally.




Administrative and Operational Support



  • Communication Mastery and Resource Management

    • Manage all forms of communication on behalf of the Connections & 55+ Pastor, ensuring responses are timely, professional, and reflective of the church’s values. This includes email, voicemail, and direct inquiries.

    • Oversee the procurement and organization of supplies and materials needed for the ministry’s operations, contributing to a well-organized environment that facilitates ministry activities efficiently.

    • Help manage the departmental budget by tracking expenses, submitting reimbursement requests, and conducting financial oversight to ensure stewardship of resources and maintain budgetary accountability.




Volunteer Engagement and Leadership



  • Volunteer Coordination

    • Recruit, train, and manage volunteers for various ministry events and activities. Foster a welcoming and inclusive volunteer environment, encouraging community participation and engagement.




Spiritual Leadership and Development



  • Personal Growth

    • Engage in personal spiritual development and training opportunities. Model servant leadership and contribute to creating a supportive and spiritually nurturing environment for the 55+ community.

    • Attend and participate in all staff meetings, demonstrating a commitment to growth and to the ministry team.




Technology and Database Management



  • Digital Proficiency

    • Utilize church management software (e.g., CCB) for comprehensive event management. This includes generating forms and groups, ensuring all communications for events are clear and timely, and managing event registration and communication. Maintain accuracy and privacy in handling congregational information.

⏤ Requirements



  • A minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, or equivalent preferred.

  • At least two years’ experience in an administrative support role, with preference given to experience in a church or nonprofit setting.

  • Proficiency in church management software (e.g. Church Community Builder-CCB) or equivalent preferred.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite.

  • Familiarity with operating standard office equipment and potential audio/visual systems for event support.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, capable of building and maintaining relationships with a diverse range of individuals and groups.

  • Ability to lift objects up to 25 pounds as needed for event setup and teardown.

  • Passport/ability to travel internationally.

  • Must be capable of standing for extended periods during events or activities.

  • Must successfully complete a background check.
