Job Summary

Job Description

Puruse your passions in ministry and in life.

Pursue your passions in ministry and in life in Deep River, Ontario, Canada.

Deep River Community Church seeks a new minister.  Our theologically and ethnically diverse congregation has many different denominations under one roof, although we are affiliated with the United and Presbyterian Churches.   We seek a minister who is warm and welcoming; possesses a sense of humour; able to relate to all age groups and a diverse community at large, and able to effectively preach and provide challenging ideas and leadership.  We stress self-development and provide ample study leave to our ministers.  You will be able to pursue your own passion for growing a ministry, whether it is in family ministry, service to the community, theological exploration, outreach, missions, music, or beyond.  Deep River Community Church is a place where a minister can grow and thrive.

The town itself is located halfway between Ottawa and North Bay, on the shores of the beautiful Ottawa River, adjacent to Algonquin Park and less than two hours from Ottawa. Originally built to house employees at the Canadian Nuclear Laboratories, it now includes a population of more diverse backgrounds and age groups due to the expansion of nearby Garrison Petawawa and an influx of seniors looking for a quieter lifestyle.  The town has a small but well-equipped hospital, excellent schools and libraries, and a recreational pool. There are over 100 community organizations offering a variety of activities ranging from fencing, yoga and pottery to symphony orchestra, theatre, and choral society as well as miles of walking and cross-country ski trails, several sandy beaches and nearby snowmobile trails.
