Shenandoah is a conservative, non-affiliated Baptist church entering its 50th year of ministry in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Roanoke, Virginia. The church has a membership of around 800, with a K2 -12th grade Christian school of over 400 students, and an active 156-acre camp ministry with over 2,000 visitors each year. We have a dedicated team of elders, pastors, staff, and volunteers that seek to fulfill God’s purpose for our ministry.
Shenandoah’s purpose is to glorify God by making, sending, and multiplying Gospel-centered disciples of Jesus Christ who take the Gospel to every person and establish a church for every people. When we gather we desire to passionately worship God through our response to expository Bible teaching, blended music, and a strategic focus on world missions. We are a strong and vibrant ministry with a church body incorporating every generation of Christ-followers.
We are seeking a mature and experienced man capable of guiding a broad array of ministries. The man to fill this position must be called to serve the Lord, alongside elders and pastors, in setting the vision for the church and leading the church to fulfill it. This individual also must possess the ability to teach God’s Word, lead through the example of service, shepherd a congregation and pastor team, and fulfill other pastoral duties, including providing oversight to 120 fulltime, part time, and seasonal staff.
Foremost, the candidate must be a man of prayer and the Word who passionately loves and seeks God daily and who meets the biblical qualifications of 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.
If after careful and prayerful consideration an individual is clearly led by the Lord to pursue possibly joining the pastoral staff at SBC, he may submit a confidential resume to Belinda Huffard by e-mail at email@example.com.
