Job Description

Position Summary
The Gathering Coordinator reports to the Leadership Team and works to ensure the congregation has an enjoyable experience as they connect on Sundays and throughout the week, as needed.
This person will need to be highly relational, organized, adaptable, inclusive, an excellent communicator who can work independently and follow direction.

Primary Responsibilities
Sunday Service/Gathering Coordination
-  Using the model determined by church leadership, ensure guest speakers and/or teachers are scheduled for Sunday services/ gatherings; preferably 2-3 weeks in advance.
-  Maintain and share the schedule and logistics with church leadership and staff.
-  Vet speakers and teachers to ensure they align with First Covenant’s ethos and mission.
-  Coordinate with church leadership and guests to ensure alignment in messaging as needed.
-  Coordinate childcare, greeting, and other service teams, confirming that someone is scheduled each Sunday.
-   Stay within the budget given and/or seek approval at least one month in advance.
-  Other responsibilities as assigned.

Congregational Care
-  Serve alongside the Leadership Team and staff of First Covenant to create a place that is welcoming to all.
-  Connect with congregants, visitors, Leadership Team, and staff to ensure services and gatherings are meeting the needs of the congregation.
-  Participate in community feedback discussions, facilitating as necessary. Report any trends, needs, concerns, or positive feedback to the Leadership Team.

Required Qualifications
-  Experience and skill developing and working in community partnerships.
-  Experience or training around diversity, equity and inclusion.
-  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-  Collaborative, enjoys working and engaging with others.
-  Ability to multitask, quickly change direction and independently prioritize work in order to support multiple people and priorities.
-  Ability to exercise discretion when accessing and managing sensitive information.
-  Ability to work autonomously, anticipate needs and use independent judgment.
-  1+ years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications
-  2+ years of relevant experience.
-  Existing relationships with ministerial or other non-profit staff who demonstrate proficiency and understanding around diversity, equity and inclusion.
-  Shepherding pastoral leadership experience.

Desired/Optional Qualifications
-  Skilled with musical instrument(s).
-  Existing relationships with local musicians.
-  Interest in musical performance and/or planning.

Hours: Part Time, 15-20 hours per week. Schedule can be determined based upon staff need upon hire; but Sunday mornings from 9:00am-12:00pm are required.

Hiring Manager: This position reports to the Leadership Team.
