POSITION OVERVIEW


Pentecostal Tabernacle seeks a knowledgeable, energetic, and thorough Digital Communications Specialist with website development and maintenance experience, plus design and marketing capabilities to play a central role in developing communications strategies and delivering products across digital channels. The ideal candidate will possess communications skills as a capable writer and deadline-driven team player, plus experience as a technical lead in charge of managing, maintaining, and adapting high-visibility websites.


The Digital Communications Specialist will help the church by managing the internal and external communications of the organization. The individual will also lead the strategy that oversees PT’s messaging across a variety of print, digital, and broadcast mediums. This involves:



  • PT Newsletter

  • Graphic Design

  • PT Website

  • Social Media


WORKING RELATIONSHIPS


The Digital Communications Specialist reports to the Executive Pastor to ensure that all communications projects and activities closely align with the overall strategic vision for the church. The Digital Communication Specialist will also work closely with the IT and Media ministries, interact with ministry leaders, and collaborate with vendors and external stakeholders.


RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Oversee all communication distributed to the congregation and the community, including electronic newsletters, announcements and the church website.

  • Provide communications support with primary responsibility for the website development in collaboration with external vendors, maintenance, changes, and feature additions.

  • Lead the way in adopting and implementing new media technologies with the IT and Media ministries.

  • Collaborate with the Executive Pastor and necessary departments to plan marketing efforts around upcoming events and programs.

  • Design and edit a MailChimp newsletter summarizing upcoming activities and events at Pentecostal Tabernacle.

  • Generate copy for the website, newsletter and other announcements.

  • Collaborate with graphic designers to create and format digital and print media.

  • Process PTCB Communications Request Form submissions, add new projects to the planning queue, and respond to ministry leaders.


QUALIFICATIONS & DESIRED SKILLS



  • Bachelor’s degree or three or more years of directly relevant professional experience in non-profit, educational, or broadcast communications; journalism; multimedia and web development; or related field

  • A keen eye for strong design

  • Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva and InDesign

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Highly organized/administrative

  • Project Management and team management experience

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel and Google Suites (Google Drive, Sheets, Doc, etc.)

  • Experience working with email management apps (e.g. MailChimp)

  • Experience with Google Analytics & SEO


LOCATION & SCHEDULE


This is a full-time, 30-hour per week role based in Cambridge, MA. Team members are required to work a minimum of two days in the office (Tuesdays and one additional day) with other days as work from home flexibility.


COMPENSATION


The salary range for this position is $50,000-$55,000. Salary commensurate with experience and skills. This position is also eligible for health insurance benefits, retirement plan, paid vacation and holidays, and other benefits.
