Job Description

The HR Specialist coordinates and manages staff compensation and benefits programs for global staff among other duties that contribute to the delivery of a comprehensive total reward program that supports effective retention and engagement of a global high-performing workforce, guided by precedent and working within the limits of established policies.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


•    Responsible for the compliant administration of group benefit programs such as life, disability, health insurance and 403b plans.


•    Manage the annual benefits open enrollment process, ensuring all deadlines are met, updating, and distributing plan documents and regulatory notices; facilitating staff benefit meetings and ensuring enrollment data is processed and submitted correctly.


•    Responsible for ensuring all carrier file feeds are maintained, processed timely and accurately.


•    Advises and informs HR business partners of changes and developments related to benefits including eligibility, coverage, and provisions.


•    Work closely with benefit providers to research, resolve, escalate issues and drive process improvement.


•    Work with payroll provider to ensure timely and accurate processing of bi-weekly payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes and other deductions. Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations and changes to pay rates.


•    Resolve payroll discrepancies and answer payroll related questions.


•    Research and determine payroll liability by state. Ensure compliance with applicable laws, payroll tax obligations and internal protocols.


•    Collaborate with Finance on reporting and facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.


•    Administers compensation programs for global staff.


•    Monitors the effectiveness of existing compensation practices and recommends changes that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation trends and business objectives.


•    Works closely with HR business partners on pay decisions, policy interpretation, and job evaluations.


•    Participate in industry compensation and benefits surveys.


•    Lead and facilitate corporate wellness initiatives.


•    Maintains knowledge of economic conditions, labor market, and other factors related to ensuring the organization provides competitive benefit programs and pay structures.


•    Maintains knowledge of trends, developments and best practices in compensation and benefits administration.


OTHER DUTIES:


•    Maintain staff confidence by protecting and maintaining confidentiality of personnel data.


•    Maintains professional and technical HR knowledge by attending workshops, conferences or webinars.


•    Attend and participate in a variety of meetings and task force groups as directed and maintain required level of knowledge pertaining to operating procedures, requirements, processes and policies.


•    Lead and/or participate in projects, initiatives or task force groups which focus on issues having organization wide impact.


•    Perform or assist with any assignments as required or directed.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:


This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:


This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, printers, scanners, postage machine and smartphones.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:


The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will have prolonged period of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.


QUALIFICATIONS:

•    Requires a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related field;


•    Requires three to five years of Human Resources experience, preferably in compensation and benefits;


•    Requires at least two years’ experience processing payroll. Proficient with payroll software, preferably ADP Workforce Now;


•    Experience with HRIS and Microsoft office;


•    Excellent written and verbal skills, including high attention to detail;


•    High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations;


•    Ability to work under tight deadlines and with multiple departments;


•    CEBPS, PHR, SHRM-CP or CCP certification preferred.
