Our congregation is excited to embrace new ideas that will refresh our church while also honoring the beloved traditions that define us. We’re looking for a forward-thinking individual who can help us become more engaged with our community.
We are seeking a strong spiritual leader who can guide us and help nurture our faith. We believe that when our own spiritual needs are met, we are better equipped to meet the spiritual needs of others.
We value Bible-based teachings that provide clear guidance through scripture.
Zion UCC Baroda is looking for a leader who facilitates and inspires others—someone who can attract and motivate people to actively contribute to the work of the church.

What we value about living in our area
Our church is fortunate to be situated in a diverse area of southwest Michigan. The beautiful shores of Lake Michigan run up the west coast of our county. Farm land is abundant in our area, allowing the opportunity for fresh produce throughout the spring, summer and fall. Baroda is just two hours away from Chicago. Other smaller cities that are in close proximity are South Bend, Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids.
Current size of membership:
Currently, there are approximately 150 members of Zion United Church of Christ in Baroda. The average weekly attendance for 2024 was 60 people.

Position Title: Designated Pastor
Position Duration:
Designated-Term – a called position for a designated time period for a defined purpose, in which the pastor may move church membership to the congregation served and may move standing to the related association
Compensation Level: ½ Time

1b. SCOPE OF WORK
Core Competencies:
Based on a survey given to the congregation in 2019, our church identified three qualities we value as key to having a successful relationship with a settled pastor. Those three qualities are sensitive, caring and sociable. These qualities will be crucial as we look for a pastor to provide pastoral care to our congregation and help build relationships in our community.
