John Holland created a theory to help people achieve greater job and ministry success and satisfaction. He identified six personality themes: Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising, and Conventional. He observed that any person has two or three themes of much higher interest, and job or ministry opportunities comprise two or three personality themes. Holland's theory is the most widely researched and used theory for vocational fit.

They can see possibilities in multiple settings and are unafraid to experiment with their ideas. They like variety and tend to feel cramped in structured situations.

Problem Solving: They like solving problems independently using intuition and creativity.

Problem Solving: They like to approach and deal with problems through understanding feelings and using empathy. They also tend to like a flexible approach to solving problems.

They are goal-oriented in producing results. They tend to have a high energy level, are goal-oriented, and focus on delivering results.

Problem Solving: They like to solve problems with leadership, delegation, and decision-making skills.

Problem Solving: They prefer to solve practical problems and resolve them by using a prescribed set of rules and procedures.
