Purpose:
A Children’s Ministry Director is a vital position to honor Jesus by creating children's ministries that will lead and guide children toward the love of Christ. The director should have a vibrant faith and a compassionate desire to see children draw closer to Jesus. As part of the ministry team, the director will collaborate with staff and volunteers to fulfill the church's mission: "Build an inspired community that creatively and compassionately connects people to Jesus Christ."
Responsibilities:
Oversee general children’s ministry activities (birth - 5th grade).
Coordinate, recruit, and train volunteers.
Help in selecting and preparing engaging lessons for children's church, Sunday School, and other ministries the director develops.
Lead children’s church and Sunday school classes while also engaging volunteers.
Assist the Pastor when needed during "Picnic with the Pastor" - children's message in worship done by the pastor.
Maintain contact with families to build relationships and connections.
Provide a loving, fun, and Christ-centered atmosphere for students.
Maintain high safety standards for childcare settings.
Pray for families and ministry regularly.
Qualifications:
2 years leading children’s ministry preferred.
Heart for seeing children grow in faith.
Education or childcare background ideal.
Hours:
Primary hours are from 9:45 am-12:15 pm on Sunday mornings, and would like to see midweek programming. Weekday hours are currently flexible. 10 – 20 hours a week to start, with opportunity for growth.
Compensation:
Starting at ($10,000 - $20,000 annually based upon hours and experience.)
Growth:
This position can grow with more hours and additional pay, depending on the growth strategies of the children’s/family programming and/or using other gifts that benefit the overall ministry of Ashland church. (i.e. worship leading, audio/video tech, etc.)
