Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) is a Bible-centered ministry committed to reaching children with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Through Good News Clubs, 5-Day Clubs, and outreach events, CEF shares the message of salvation and discipleship with young people throughout Southern California.
Position Overview
CEF of Southern California is seeking a Ministry Coordinator to oversee our outreach efforts at the 2025 Orange County Fair located in Costa Mesa, California. This temporary, part-time position plays a key role in planning, coordinating, and supporting CEF’s evangelistic booth, where children and families hear the Gospel and engage in ministry activities. The Ministry Coordinator will report directly to the Local Director of the Orange Coast Chapter and provide regular updates on outreach progress, volunteer coordination, and ministry impact.
Key Responsibilities
• Recruit, Train, & Support Volunteers
• Assist in recruiting and coordinating volunteers to serve in the OC Fair outreach booth.
• Organize training sessions to equip volunteers in evangelism and child-friendly engagement.
• Provide on-site encouragement and support to volunteers during the fair.
• Event Coordination and Logistics
• Work with CEF leadership and fair organizers to ensure smooth booth setup and operations.
• Help coordinate scheduling, materials, and supplies for the outreach.
• Maintain communication with volunteers, ensuring all shifts are covered.
• Gospel Outreach & Engagement
• Assist in setting up interactive evangelism activities and materials for children and families.
• Support volunteers in using CEF’s evangelistic tools, such as the Wordless Book.
• Help record ministry impact, including number of children reached and follow-up needs.
• Administrative & Reporting Duties
• Maintain records of volunteer participation and outreach impact.
• Ensure that families interested in Good News Clubs or local churches receive follow-up.
• Submit weekly progress reports to the Local Director of the Orange Coast Chapter.
• Provide a final outreach report summarizing ministry impact, challenges, and recommendations.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Personal Relationship with Jesus Christ – Must be a committed believer with a passion for evangelism.
• Agreement with CEF’s Statement of Faith – Will be required to review and affirm CEF’s doctrinal beliefs.
• Experience in Ministry & Outreach – Background in evangelism, children’s ministry, or event coordination is a plus.
• Strong Organizational & Communication Skills – Ability to coordinate volunteers and manage event details.
• Flexibility & Dependability – Must be able to adapt to the fast-paced environment of a large outreach event.
• Must Pass a Background Check – Required for working with children.
Work Schedule & Commitment
• 10 to 20 hours per week, with flexibility based on outreach needs.
• Increased availability required during the OC Fair (July–August 2025), including some evenings and weekends.
• Position will end two week after the conclusion of the 2025 Orange County Fair.
