First Baptist Church of Pittsfield, located in the heart of Berkshire County in western Massachusetts, seeks a visionary and passionate Senior Minister. Position Summary: As the Senior Minister, you will provide spiritual leadership, pastoral care and foster an inclusive environment for all. You will also guide our congregation towards deeper spiritual growth, outreach, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead weekly worship services with inspiring, biblically based, life-application sermons.
- Provide compassionate pastoral care, including visiting the sick and counseling those in need.
- Perform weddings, funerals, and baptisms.
- Develop and implement small group ministries and educational programs.
- Collaborate with church leadership to plan and execute a vision for growth and leadership development.
- Engage with interfaith organizations and address pressing community needs.
- Utilize technology for ministry purposes to promote connectivity and growth.
Preferred Qualifications (Valued, But All Experience Considered):
- An ordained minister or willingness to seek ordination.
- Master's degree from an accredited seminary or equivalent experience.
- Five years of pastoral ministry experience, with a demonstrated ability to lead and shepherd a congregation.
- Affiliation with the American Baptist denomination.
Compensation: Current total compensation package of $90,000.
